Carrington is still building, and the seasons grade it: between snowmelt and green-up the community shows every phase at once from the air — finished streets, framed blocks and bare-graded earth along Carrington Boulevard NW, each a different colour. That mixed frame cuts both ways for a builder — spring mud beside finished show homes reads as honest progress in a dated series, and as unfinished mess in a one-off marketing shot.

Progress work here is flown as a repeating series so each phase lands in the same frame visit after visit, and stand-alone marketing frames are timed after green-up — both delivered on the turnaround agreed at booking.

Light. Snow lingers on graded, shadowed lots after the finished streets are clear, and green-up reaches new sod noticeably later than established grass. The honest construction record is a series flown across the year; the flattering marketing frame is high summer.

Terrain. Open prairie on the city's northern edge grading into new subdivision blocks — level to gently rolling ground where construction phases run from bare earth to finished streetscape.

Wind. Chinook belt. On the open northern edge there is little terrain to modify the regional forecast, so what the forecast promises is usually what arrives — in gusts, when a chinook is running.

Airspace. Carrington sits about 9 km from Calgary International, inside the CYYC control zone as charted. Flights here are conducted under an Advanced RPAS certificate with a NAV CANADA RPAS authorisation obtained before the shoot is confirmed. Before any flight, the exact site and altitude are checked against NAV Drone.

On the ground. City of Calgary bylaws restrict drone takeoff and landing in municipal parks and on public pathways, so launches are staged from private property — on active sites, from within the builder's own ground. About 25 minutes from the Calgary base — practical for recurring progress visits. Symons Valley, Sherwood and Kincora sit on the same run north, so multiple sites can share the drive.
