By the time the city reaches Silverado the controlled airspace has run out: the community sits at Calgary's southern rim in uncontrolled Class G air, 17 km from the nearest aerodrome at Kirkby Field, with the CYYC control zone left well to the north. On the ground. Under City of Calgary parks bylaws, drone takeoff and landing are restricted in municipal parks and on pathways, so Silverado flights are launched from private property — a builder's site or a client's lot — with consent.
