The grain quarters around Carstairs run one calendar in unison — green, gold, swath, stubble, snow — while the fairways of the Didsbury-Carstairs Golf Club hold a single green from thaw to freeze-up. The week a shoot flies decides what the town's setting says: the same property reads as working farmland at harvest and as bare plain after melt, and once the district moves on, that frame is gone until next year.
