Livingston is being built on some of the flattest ground in the city's northwest — from the air, Centre Street N runs toward open farmland with barely a contour line to interrupt it. Flat ground gives a ground-level camera nothing to work with — every elevation shot of a new build looks like the one beside it, and a construction site reads as the same mud from one visit to the next.

Light. On the open northern edge, snow drifts rather than settles and green-up comes late to the surrounding farmland. The build-out sets its own rhythm — construction frames read best between spring thaw and freeze-up.

Airspace. Livingston sits about 11 km from Calgary International — near the charted boundary of the CYYC control zone, close enough that which side of the line a given address falls on decides the paperwork. On the ground. Calgary's parks bylaws do not permit drone launching or landing in municipal parks; takeoff is planned from private property with the owner's permission.
