New Brighton's streetscape is still young — the trees have not yet cleared the rooflines — so from the air the community's texture comes almost entirely from the angle of the light. A midday aerial here looks like a midday aerial of every young southeast community: flat roofs, flat lawns, no shadows to separate one plane from the next, and nothing that says this address.

Airspace. New Brighton lies outside the charted Calgary-area control zones in uncontrolled Class G airspace, about 6 km from Kirkby Field (Indus). No airspace authorisation is normally required. South Health Campus heliport operates about 4 km away, and flight plans keep clear of its approaches. Every flight is preceded by a NAV Drone check of the specific site and altitude.

On the ground. City of Calgary bylaws restrict drone launch and landing in municipal parks and along pathways, so takeoff is staged from private property with the client's consent. About 25 minutes from the base — same-day work is straightforward, and McKenzie Towne, Copperfield or McKenzie Lake pair with it on a single southeast run.
