Airdrie
Creative production across Airdrie.
Airdrie and its communities — Coopers Crossing, Bayside, Kings Heights, Windsong, Luxstone, Sagewood, Ravenswood. One of the fastest-growing cities in Canada, which in aerial terms means new-build subdivisions photographed at phase boundaries: the same frame in March and September is a marketing asset a developer cannot buy retroactively.
Aerial work across Airdrie
Film and photography are unaffected by airspace, and the studio can be commissioned throughout the corridor. For aerial work, the airspace governs. Airdrie sits between its own aerodrome and the northern edge of the CYYC control zone. Both constraints apply across parts of the city, so authorisation status is established per address before a shoot is booked.
What that means in practice.
9 locations in this corridor are covered by the studio under the standard RPAS rules. All of them sit in controlled airspace, so for aerial work an Advanced RPAS certificate is the entry requirement here rather than a credential worth mentioning. Film and photography are unaffected.
Aerodromes in play. Airdrie aerodrome. Each has a circuit that is plotted before any aerial work nearby, because uncontrolled airspace is not the same thing as unoccupied airspace.
Mobilisation. About 30 minutes from the Calgary studio, for every location covered here. The whole corridor sits within a single day's shoot from Calgary. It is quoted separately from the fee, so the scope for a project here is stated in full before anything is booked.
Conditions across the corridor.
Airdrie
Flat prairie with shallow drainage. Nothing obstructs a wide frame, which makes subdivision geometry unusually legible from directly overhead.
Exposed prairie with no terrain shelter. Airdrie regularly holds a steadier and stronger surface wind than Calgary 30 kilometres south.
Airdrie Downtown
Flat prairie townsite ground on a straight street grid, with the green line of Nose Creek Regional Park along its edge and level prairie in every other direction.
Open chinook-belt prairie. Airdrie has no terrain shelter, and downtown's low buildings do little to break a west wind that arrives at full strength.
Bayside
Level prairie re-engineered around water — the Bayside canals thread between the lots in cut channels, giving a flat community the shoreline geometry the surrounding grid does not have.
Chinook-belt prairie with no shelter to speak of; the canals sit below grade but do nothing to slow a west wind, and the open ground toward Chinook Winds Regional Park gives it a clean run.
Coopers Crossing
Level prairie given structure by planting — boulevard trees, the pathway network and green corridors organise flat ground into one of Airdrie's most deliberately landscaped communities.
Chinook country, open to the west. Maturing trees take some edge off surface gusts at street level, but the wind aloft crosses Airdrie at full prairie strength.

Airdrie questions, answered.
Does Atom2Adam work across Airdrie?
Yes. Atom2Adam makes film, photography and aerial cinematography across Airdrie — 9 locations covered from the Calgary studio, each with its own page. Aerial work here flies with airspace authorisation in hand. Every project is scoped and quoted before anything is booked.
Do you need airspace authorisation across Airdrie?
Yes, for aerial work, across the corridor. Every location covered in Airdrie sits in controlled airspace, so aerial cinematography flies under an Advanced RPAS certificate with a NAV CANADA authorisation filed before the shoot date is confirmed. Film and photography on the ground are unaffected.
How far is Airdrie from the studio?
About 30 minutes from the Calgary studio, for every location covered here. The whole corridor sits within a single day's shoot from Calgary. Mobilisation is quoted separately from the fee.
What kinds of subject does Airdrie call for?
The corridor is made for new communities and show homes, luxury homes, cafés, restaurants and retail. The subject shapes the shoot: a new community is photographed at phase boundaries, the same frame months apart, and a home needs its street, its light and its scale shown together. Each project is scoped against a written brief.
