People, brand and built space.

Toronto's waterfront on Lake Ontario, bold architecture and varied restaurant neighbourhoods offer different settings for a commercial story. The choice is editorial: a headquarters interior might explain a brand more clearly than a skyline, while a hotel campaign may need to connect its rooms and dining to its downtown setting.

The commission begins by deciding how these spaces relate to the people and product. A coordinated capture plan can reserve time for the main film, architectural stills and smaller details without asking every scene to do every job. The final library is organized around where the campaign will be seen.

Commissions shaped by Toronto.

A brand launch in several formats

Plan the principal film, website photography and shorter campaign edits from one set of references. Resolve the audience and delivery requirements early, so a motion sequence also leaves room for composed stills.

Architecture that explains the business

Document commercial interiors, workspaces or a new property through materials, movement and the way people occupy them. Exterior context serves the story when it adds useful information.

Hospitality beyond the room

A restaurant launch or hotel campaign can combine the space, service and lived experience. Schedule around access and operating hours, with a practical list of the images the marketing team needs.

From direction to delivery.

  • Consultancy & Creative Direction

Establish the campaign's point of view, references and platform requirements before production. Decide how the brand's people and spaces belong in the same story.

  • Film

Commercial and brand filmmaking with planned movement, detail and human presence, shaped into a principal film and the agreed campaign versions.

  • Photography

A commercial image library for architecture, interiors, hospitality or lifestyle, composed for the actual uses rather than treated as frames left over from filming.

  • Post-Production

Editing, colour grading, sound and finishing keep the hero film and shorter deliverables consistent across the website, campaign and social placements.

  • Aerial

Property or setting coverage is evaluated per address. Flight permissions and access are established during planning; aerial footage is included only when the proposed operation is feasible.

A clear brief makes the city manageable.

Identify which scenes stay inside private property and which need streets, sidewalks, parking or other City space. Toronto's Film Office distinguishes those situations; still photography can have its own permit process. The production plan should reflect the proposed equipment and location use.

For a workplace, hotel or restaurant, agree the areas available to the crew, who can appear and the quiet windows for capture. A Toronto commission benefits from a delivery list that separates launch-day assets from the longer-lived brand library. Travel, access and finishing are scoped before dates are committed.

Toronto questions, answered.

Can one Toronto commission include a brand film and still photography?

Yes. Atom2Adam can plan film and commercial photography under one creative direction, with time allocated to both during production. The brief should name the audience, spaces, people and required campaign formats so the scope reflects the full collection.

Does every Toronto shoot need a City filming permit?

The requirements depend on the location and proposed use. A production entirely within private property is different from one occupying City streets or sidewalks. The Film Office's current guidance is reviewed for the actual shoot, including separate still-photography requirements where relevant.

Where does the crew travel from, and is this Toronto portfolio work?

Atom2Adam operates from Calgary and travels to Toronto on a client-funded commission. The images and film shown here were made in Alberta, as their captions state. They demonstrate brand, architecture and hospitality capabilities without claiming previous Toronto work or a Toronto studio.

A Calgary base. A written scope.

  • Return airfare from Calgary for the crew
  • Accommodation for every night on the ground
  • Ground transport at the destination
  • Local flight permits and airspace authorisations at the destination
  • Any destination-specific insurance rider
  • Equipment shipping or excess-baggage fees where the kit cannot fly as carry-on
